Bogesundsleden Vaxholm...

This was Mullholland Drive Sweden back when, everybody in and around Stockholm that has ridden a bike since the late 60's has made their mark on Bogesundsleden, either serious damage, even deaths but mostly braggin' rights. Bogesundsleden has been the Mecka of sportsbikeriders during the summer but sadly it has disturbed the neighbours in the last couple of years that the County has been forced to resurface it with what we in Sweden call oljegrus it's tar underneath gravel wich makes a loose surface not good for speeding, sad. During the 70's it was mostly Japanese bikes running back and forth with some Rickman Triumphs (I had one and there were a couple of others). I have set my mark in one bend going straight off out in the sticks with a one week old Kawasaki 750 H2 that after that looked like a Swiss Army Knife, sadly during the last 5-10 years many young kids have lost their life and some nasty accidents have gone down and that's the reason for resurfacing....

Bogesundsleden ends (or starts if you go that way) in tourist trap Vaxholm, a place for an Ice Cream and always during the summer you see some cool bikes, then if you feel like it it's 2 ferry boat rides to Gustavsberg and on into Stockholm City....

DP says: Bogesundsleden RIP....
