Frestavägen Täby...

His is where we all cut out teeth motorbikin', back in the 70's I started out on a tuned Suzuki moped nailing the bends and blasting the straights, some of the guys moved on to 125's but I bought a 69 Triumph Bonneville and chopped it, worked badly on Frestavägen but won prizes, next up a Sportster also chopped, no good but loads of prizes, needed something faster and a Kawasaki 750 H2 that was crashed on Bogesundsleden gave way for a Rickman Triumph with Morgo cylinders, that was good. Later it was back to choppers again...

Frestavägen was THE place to show your skills, 2 or 4 wheels during the 60's, 70's & 80's, it was a great set of twisties and not alot of traffic but when Täby started to grow traffic flow also grew and the road got worn and torn untill they some years ago built a new 4-laner to take the traffic off Frestavägen it again is a wonderfull bikeride, it has lost a couple of it's curves and been rerouted in places but today there's almost no traffic and the view from a bike is awesome. Yesterday I picked up a loaner XR1200 from Harley Davidsson Sweden, wich by chance is headquartered and the end of Frestavägen in Täby and this all started a trip down memorylane.....

DP says: What a great bike, what a great road, what a kick....
